Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing essential support in maintaining a safe and clean environment for our furry clients. This role involves working closely with animals, ensuring their well-being, and assisting with various tasks related to their care.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercising them.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management staff.
- Assist with grooming tasks as needed, including bathing and brushing.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper restraint techniques when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets' needs and behaviors.
- Participate in training sessions for dog handling and behavior modification when necessary.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and behavior.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes safely and confidently.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as required for animal handling and kennel maintenance.
- Familiarity with pet care practices is beneficial.
- Experience in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during handling is also beneficial.
