Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of garage doors and related hardware. Your expertise will ensure that each installation meets safety standards, functions smoothly, and enhances the aesthetic appeal of our clients’ properties. Duties
- Install new garage doors, including hanging doors, attaching hardware, and ensuring proper alignment using hand tools, power tools, and blueprint schematics
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing garage doors, including replacing panels, springs, cables, rollers, and locks
- Conduct glass installation for windows or panels as needed, ensuring secure fitment and safety compliance
- Use welding skills to fabricate or repair metal components of garage doors or frames
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide installation processes
- Execute metal stud framing, trim carpentry, caulking, fixture installation, and cabinet installation for custom door setups
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving large doors or components; utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Apply locksmithing skills for lock installation or repair; incorporate electrical experience for motorized door systems
- Fabricate custom parts or modify existing components to meet project specifications on construction sites or remodeling projects
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials; adhere to safety protocols at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in construction-related roles such as carpentry, remodeling, or handyman work with a focus on door hanging or fixture installation
- Hands-on experience with glass installation, welding, metal framing, or fabrication projects preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics essential for precise installations
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to garage doors including springs, cables, motors, and electronic controls
- Prior electrical experience beneficial for working with motorized systems or wiring components
- Construction site experience demonstrating ability to work safely in dynamic environments
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
