The Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) is the leading national organization dedicated to improving the lives of those living with Lewy body dementia (LBD), their families, and care partners. LBD is the second most common form of neurodegenerative dementia and affects approximately 1.4 million people in the United States alone.
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Georgia, LBDA’s mission is to optimize the quality of life for those affected by LBD by accelerating awareness, advancing research for early diagnosis and improved care, and providing comprehensive education and compassionate support.
Opportunity:
The Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing and growing LBDA’s online community and media relations by contributing to the development of integrated marketing campaigns and strategies which support the provision of LBDA’s programs, fundraising goals, and increases brand awareness. The ideal candidate is well-versed in creating content for social media, engaging with followers across channels and is informed and up to date on trends and algorithm updates. The Communications Coordinator will support the Director, Marketing & Communications on public relations efforts and earned media strategies. Additionally, the ideal candidate is comfortable working in a high-volume and, at times, fast paced environment and is able to manage multiple campaigns and deliverables at the same time. As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Communications Coordinator shares the responsibility of ensuring all campaign assets are of high quality, adhere to brand guidelines, and advance the mission of LBDA.
Responsibilities
- Create copy for email and social media marketing
- Build and deploy recurring and specific campaign emails; ensure accuracy of email list generation from CRM
- Monitor email deployment; troubleshoot with Marketing Manager to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Identify and analyze emerging trends in social media and email marketing; make recommendations to Director, Marketing & Communications and Marketing Manager
- Monitor other relevant organizations digital marketing presence
- Track email and social media KPIs; collaborate with Marketing Manager to develop campaign performance reports
- Uphold LBDA’s social media and email guidelines and best practices
- Ensure all content aligns with LBDA’s brand identity and guidelines
- Collaborate with Marketing Manager on email and social media marketing campaign deliverables; adhere to content calendar process and timelines
- Collaborate with Director, Marketing & Communications and Marketing Manager on lead capture tactics
- Monitor and engage with LBDA’s online community on all social channels; respond timely to comments and inquiries
- Develop and implement tactics to encourage user-generated content
- Conduct social listening, develop and track hashtag utilization
- Grow and maintain ‘following’ lists on all social channels
- Collaborate with MarCom team on paid advertising initiatives per Director, Marketing & Communications
- Serve as back-up to Marketing Manager for LBDA’s public-facing virtual events
- Conduct daily monitoring of media mentions of LBD and LBDA
- Draft press releases and media pitches and coordinate earned media opportunities with Director, Marketing & Communications
- Build and maintain media lists
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field is required.
- Minimum of two years of experience copywriting with emphasis on social media and email marketing required
- One or more years of public relations experience; including writing press releases
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms – Constant Contact preferred
- Working knowledge of social media management tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of media monitoring platforms such as Meltwater or Cision
- Familiarity with project management applications such as Monday.com
- Aptitude for ethical storytelling
- Organized, strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Fluency in A.P. Style
- Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with colleagues and community members
- Self-motivated and results driven;
- Ability to work well under pressure; in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with other staff
- A commitment to personal integrity and professionalism
- Ability to travel (< 10%)
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
