Description:
The Field Human Resources Representative acts as a strategic and practical partner supporting managers and employees across high desert plant locations. This role is centered on the field and is responsible for delivering HR solutions that align with business goals, offering guidance on HR best practices, and promoting employee engagement, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. This position will serve with a strong understanding of field operations, capable of traveling regularly to various sites to support local leadership and employee relations efforts.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Strategic HR Partnership:

Partner with site managers and supervisors to understand operational needs and align HR strategies with business goals.

Support workforce planning, organizational development, and talent retention initiatives.

Function as a trusted advisor to field leaders, providing guidance on performance management, team dynamics, and HR compliance.
Employee Relations & Compliance:

Manage and resolve employee relations issues with fairness and consistency.

Conduct thorough investigations and recommend appropriate action when necessary.

Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and labor law compliance across all locations.

Support safety and compliance teams as needed, ensuring alignment between HR and safety programs.
Talent & Performance Management:

Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and retention of hourly and salaried employees.

Facilitate performance review processes, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

Identify training needs and recommend or deliver effective training programs in collaboration with the HR team.
Field Support & Travel:

Regularly visit job sites and plant locations to provide face-to-face support to managers and employees.

Build and maintain strong relationships with field personnel to promote a positive work environment and increase employee engagement.

Serve as the HR liaison for remote and hard-to-reach sites, ensuring consistent communication and HR presence.

Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.

5–8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist or HRBP role

HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.

Experience in a fast-paced, multi-site, or matrixed environment.

Ability to manage confidential information with integrity.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Punctuality and the ability to work in person while frequently traveling to job locations.

Field/plant-based HR experience in manufacturing, construction, or heavy industry strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting multi-site operations.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Demands:

Ability to travel frequently to various company locations, including remote concrete plants and field offices (up to 60% of travel).

Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during site visits and meetings.

Ability to navigate active job locations, including walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs or ladders, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., laptop, training materials, safety gear).

Must be comfortable working in outdoor or industrial environments, occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions when visiting sites.
