Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Nurse to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Duties
- Conduct routine health assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations, to monitor children’s health status.
- Administer medications, injections, and first aid in accordance with medical protocols and school policies.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies using CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including immunizations, allergies, and treatment plans within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding health concerns, medication schedules, and injury reports.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and nursing policies while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop individualized health plans for children with special needs or chronic conditions.
Requirements
- Valid State Board of Nursing license with current registration to practice as a registered nurse (RN).
- Proven experience in pediatric nursing, preferably within a school clinic or early childhood setting.
- Knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and common childhood illnesses including infectious disease care.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and record management.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, CPR, and AED operation is required; IV insertion skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with health regulations compliance such as HIPAA and state Nursing Practice Acts.
- Ability to assess children’s health needs quickly and respond effectively during medical emergencies involving acute care or trauma.
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and interprofessional collaboration within the school environment.
