Lexington Center for Recovery - one of the Hudson Valley’s largest and most established providers of substance use disorder treatment, continues to grow and expand services throughout the region. We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive patient care across diverse healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent assessment skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing services. As an RN, you will play a vital role in patient advocacy, treatment planning, and ensuring adherence to healthcare standards while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. This position offers opportunities to work in various specialties including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and community health environments.
Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
- Manage IV infusions, catheter care, wound suturing, and tube feeding procedures with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and diagnostic imaging preparation (e.g., CT scans or sonography).
- Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans for patients with complex conditions including infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health needs.
Experience
- Proven clinical experience in hospital settings such as ICU or emergency medicine with Level I or Level II trauma center exposure preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient management.
- Extensive nursing experience in medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities including assisted living and nursing homes.
- Experience managing complex cases involving dialysis, cardiology procedures such as catheterization, or respiratory support like ventilator management.
- Knowledge of infection control practices along with sterile processing techniques for surgical or ostomy care.
- Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care environments is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
