Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Cashier / Shift Lead to join our vibrant food service team. In this dynamic role, you will be the friendly face of our establishment, ensuring smooth transactions and exceptional customer experiences. As a Shift Lead, you will also take on leadership responsibilities to support daily operations, uphold food safety standards, and motivate your team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service to enhance their dining or shopping experience
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS with accuracy for cash handling and sales transactions
- Prepare and serve food items efficiently, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety
- Upsell menu items or products to increase sales and promote specials or new offerings
- Manage cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing registers, and processing payments accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food prep stations, dining spaces, and cashier stations
- Support food safety protocols by following proper food handling, sanitation, and serving procedures
- Assist with basic math calculations for sales totals, change, and inventory counts
- Support team members in bussing tables, cleaning, and restocking supplies as needed
- Lead by example during shifts to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, quick service or fast food restaurant environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations confidently
- Knowledge of food preparation, handling, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations
- Experience in cashiering, upselling, and sales techniques within the food industry or retail setting
- Proven time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy shifts
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
