About Hot Lake Springs Resort
Hot Lake Springs Resort is a historic hot springs destination in Northeast Oregon. Our resort operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round.
We are committed to providing every guest with a safe, clean, peaceful, and professionally managed resort experience.
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Night Auditor / Overnight Guest Care Specialist to manage overnight Front Desk operations and complete nightly resort duties.
This position combines guest service, financial reconciliation, property monitoring, light cleaning, and the year-round cleaning of the resort’s hot spring tubs.
The Night Auditor may be the primary employee on duty overnight. The right candidate must be trustworthy, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
Reliability is essential. Applicants must be able to arrive on time, remain awake and productive throughout the shift, follow resort policies, and complete all assigned work correctly.
Essential Responsibilities
Nightly Hot Spring Tub Cleaning
Nightly cleaning of the resort’s hot spring tubs is an essential, year-round responsibility of this position.
- Clean the hot spring tubs every night according to resort policies and procedures.
- Follow all required sanitation, chemical-handling, and safety practices.
- Use approved cleaning products, tools, and protective equipment.
- Inspect the tubs and surrounding areas for cleanliness, damage, leaks, or safety concerns.
- Complete all required cleaning checklists and documentation accurately.
- Report maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, or low supplies promptly.
- Confirm that the tubs and soaking areas are clean, sanitary, safe, and ready for guests.
These duties are performed to protect guest safety and provide a consistently clean and sanitary soaking experience.
Night Audit and Front Desk
- Complete nightly audit procedures accurately and on schedule.
- Review and balance guest accounts, room charges, payments, and transaction records.
- Prepare required nightly and morning reports.
- Check in late-arriving guests and assist with early departures.
- Answer guest questions and respond professionally to overnight requests or concerns.
- Maintain accurate shift logs and communicate important information to the morning team.
- Protect confidential guest, payment, and resort information.
Overnight Property and Guest Care
- Monitor the resort and complete assigned property walkthroughs.
- Watch for safety concerns, maintenance problems, unusual activity, or guest disturbances.
- Follow established emergency and incident-response procedures.
- Keep the Front Desk, lobby, and nearby guest areas clean and organized.
- Assist with laundry, restocking, light cleaning, and other assigned projects.
- Remain productive during quieter periods rather than treating downtime as time off task.
- Provide a complete and professional handoff to the incoming shift.
Professional and Performance Standards
The successful candidate must:
- Be dependable, punctual, honest, and trustworthy.
- Remain awake, alert, and productive throughout the overnight shift.
- Complete all required work thoroughly and correctly.
- Follow resort policies, procedures, checklists, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Take responsibility for mistakes and report problems honestly.
- Never report work as complete when required duties have not been performed.
- Ask for clarification rather than guessing or skipping a required step.
- Work independently without constant supervision.
- Take initiative and assist wherever reasonably needed.
- Understand that “that’s not my job” is not consistent with our team culture.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, Front Desk, night-audit, cash-handling, cleaning, or customer-service experience is preferred.

- Basic math and financial-reconciliation ability.
- Comfortable using computers, email, payment systems, and reservation software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
