Primary Function:
The Welder performs welding operations on standardized or repetitive weldments and structures, following established procedures. This role typically works with pre-fit components or parts positioned in fixtures or turning rigs.
Responsibilities:
· Weld and assemble ASME products according to product specifications, drawings and blueprints
· Perform and document calibration of precision instruments as required
· Inspect and reject products that do not meet specifications
· Visually monitor weld quality and production output
· Conduct hydro testing of ASME tanks with Authorized Inspector (A/I)
· Perform quality checks at each stage of production
· Accurately enter and track completed work in TCM daily
· Communicate daily with supervisors and production support teams regarding issues and needs
· Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
· Properly shut down and lock out equipment when not in use
· Attend required training (minimum one annually)
· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
· Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of one year of welding experience
· Welding certification or coursework preferred (in-house certification available)
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and measurements
· Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
· Ability to successfully complete an ASME weld test
· Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
· Basic knowledge of machinery and equipment operation
· Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills (typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent)
Working conditions:
· Requires manual dexterity to operate machinery and equipment
· Frequent standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling
· Ability to regularly lift up to 75 pounds
· Forklift operation requires a valid driver’s/occupational license or company certification
· Must follow all safety requirements, including the use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots); loose clothing and jewelry are prohibited
· Work environment may be dirty due to welding, blasting, and steel particles
· Exposure to temperature extremes (40°F to 120°F)
· Exposure to elevated noise levels
