Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Adult Caregiver (Evening Shift) for a paid, part-time Direct Service Professional internship supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Sierra Madre, CA. This hands-on shadow training opportunity is designed for candidates who want to build a meaningful career in caregiving, direct support, home care, behavioral support, or human services.
In this role, you will train alongside an experienced mentor while learning how to help individuals live more independent, connected, and fulfilling lives. This is a supportive environment with structured training, weekly pay, and the potential to transition into long-term employment if there is a mutual fit. Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and support experienced Direct Service Professionals while learning person-centered care practices.
- Assist individuals with daily living skills such as cooking, hygiene, transportation, and community participation.
- Support communication, social interaction, relationship building, and personal independence.
- Encourage health, wellness, inclusion, self-advocacy, and access to services or resources.
- Help support education, job readiness, career goals, and community engagement based on individual needs.
- Document services, progress, and observations while keeping the individual at the center of decision-making.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $16.90 per hour during the program, with potential conversion up to $20 per hour.
- Weekly pay.
- Part-time schedule, up to 30 hours per week.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 10 PM.
- Paid 3-month shadow training program.
- Potential permanent employment opportunity, sometimes as early as week three if there is a mutual fit.
