Axiom Engineering is a Wichita-based aerospace manufacturer producing high-precision CNC machined components and small assemblies for major aerospace and defense customers. This role is for an experienced machinist who can step in ready to run aerospace parts on 2nd shift.

ITAR / CUI Eligibility Requirement (Required)
Axiom Engineering is ITAR-registered and performs defense-related work. This position requires access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other export-controlled technical data. Candidates must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62) (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident/green card holder, or protected individual/refugee/asylee). We cannot sponsor work authorization for this role.
Applicants who do not meet ITAR “U.S. Person” eligibility will not be considered.

Important – Read Before Applying (Not a Training Role)
This is not an entry-level or training position. You must arrive fully qualified to operate CNC mills in an aerospace production environment and meet the requirements below.
Minimum Requirements
3+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience in aerospace (3-, 4-, or 5-axis)
Ability to read engineering drawings, hold tight tolerances, and follow controlled processes
Self-directed, fast, accurate, and consistently productive with limited supervision
Professional Standards & Policies
We run a focused, distraction-free machining environment.
Cell phones: Not allowed in the machining area. Phones must be stored in a provided locker except during breaks/lunch.
Attendance: Be on time every day, return promptly from breaks/lunch, work full shifts, and take ownership of reliability.
Interview expectations: Arrive on time and prepared. Late or unprepared arrivals will cancel the interview.

What You’ll Do
Operate 3-, 4-, and/or 5-axis CNC mills producing aerospace components
Follow engineering drawings, setup documentation, and inspection requirements exactly
Perform accurate in-process inspection and document results correctly
Maintain productivity and quality expectations with minimal supervision on 2nd shift
Maintain a clean work area and follow safety rules and shop policies

What We’re Looking For
3+ years of aerospace CNC machining experience (mills)
Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and meet aerospace quality expectations
Strong blueprint/drawing comprehension and process discipline
Reliable, accountable, professional, and detail-oriented
Able to work independently and sustain performance on an evening shift

Strongly Preferred (Helps You Stand Out)
Experience with 4-axis and/or 5-axis milling
Confidence using inspection tools (mics, calipers, bore gages, height gage; CMM exposure a plus)
Experience machining aluminum, stainless, and titanium

Pay Note
Pay is $18–$25/hr DOE, based on demonstrated aerospace machining experience, inspection capability, and ability to work independently on 2nd shift.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
