Duties
- Prepare a variety of fried foods and other menu items according to standardized recipes and quality specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, ovens, and food prep stations safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by following food safety procedures and sanitizing protocols regularly
- Assist with food production tasks including sauces, cooking and meal assembly to support high-volume service demands
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and portioning to uphold safety regulations and minimize waste
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on dish preparation and ingredient availability
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service experiences in a timely manner
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting, including dietary aide or dietary department experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in various cooking methods such as frying, grilling, braising, poaching, and recipe adherence
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment efficiently
- Experience with high-volume production environments requiring quick turnaround times
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility during busy shifts
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering experience, and serving practices is a plus
