American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry for a neuro/stroke stepdown unit requiring NIHSS certification and Trauma Level II experience.

Busy stroke, neuro, and trauma stepdown unit within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, general med/surg, and IMC/stepdown level of care
-
Performs special procedures including lumbar drain management, NIHSS assessments, and stroke education
-
Typical patient assignment is 1:4, which may increase depending on available resources
-
Rotating 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Every other weekend required

Uses Epic charting system
-
Active WI or compact RN license required
-
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
-
Minimum 1 year of experience required

Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required

Trauma Level II experience required
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required

Must be able to shave facial hair to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing

Provide advanced nursing care within a high-acuity stroke, neuro, and trauma stepdown environment

Navy blue scrubs required

Facility does not provide CAPRs or PAPRs, and use of personal CAPRs/PAPRs is not permitted; no medical or religious exemptions are accepted for fit testing

Failure to properly complete fit testing due to facial hair will result in cancellation

Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this position

First-time travelers are not accepted

Clinicians may not work more than 1 year as a traveler at this facility and must take a 6-month break before returning

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
