ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a growing commercial landscaping organization and lead new business development across the Charlotte market. This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, an established regional operation, strong leadership support, and the opportunity to build relationships with commercial property owners, property managers, developers, HOAs, healthcare organizations, and facility-management partners.
As a Business Developer, you’ll be responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing commercial landscape maintenance opportunities. This role is highly relationship-focused, requiring proactive outreach, strong communication, and a strategic approach to building a consistent sales pipeline. You’ll meet with prospective clients, develop customized proposals, and partner closely with operations to ensure a smooth transition from sale to service. Your success in this role will directly impact the company’s growth and long-term client relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Prospect, qualify, and close new commercial landscape maintenance contracts in the designated area.
· Conduct a minimum of 5 new appointments per week with prospective commercial property clients.
· Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and territory planning.
· Deliver compelling, customized proposals tailored to each prospect’s property and service needs.
· Partner with operations to ensure seamless onboarding and client satisfaction from contract signing forward.
· Maintain accurate records of sales activity, appointments, and pipeline in company systems.
· Track competitive market intelligence including pricing, services, and industry trends.
· Submit weekly activity reports, monthly territory analyses, and forecasts to management.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- Three or more years of successful outside B2B sales or business development experience.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop a pipeline, negotiate proposals, and close commercial contracts.
- Existing relationships within the Charlotte commercial real estate, property management, construction, facilities, HOA, or landscaping market preferred.
- Experience selling recurring commercial services preferred.
- Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding an annual sales quota.
- Experience using Salesforce or another CRM.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Charlotte market.

· Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage C-suite members and property managers
· Self-directed with exceptional time management and territory organization skills

· Occasionally lift and carry materials such as marketing materials, samples, or equipment up to 15–25 pounds
· Work both indoors in an office setting and outdoors during site visits in varying weather conditions
· Perform tasks requiring close attention to detail, communication, and coordination
· Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is primarily office-based with frequent travel to outdoor job sites and client locations. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels may occur during site visits.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
