The Porch is a neighborhood restaurant and bar with two Orlando-area locations — South Orange and Winter Park. We take our food seriously, have a great time doing it, and are looking for passionate, skilled line cooks to join our kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies prior to service
- Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team, ensuring food is prepared simultaneously, to a high standard, and in a timely manner
- Follow and execute manager instructions accurately and efficiently
- Observe all food temperature standards and accommodate guest requests as directed
- Maintain a clean and organized station throughout service and properly store all leftover food
- Stock and replenish inventory as needed
- Comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and food safety regulations and standards
Qualifications
- Proven cooking experience as a line cook, prep cook, or restaurant cook in a high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to execute assigned tasks with speed and accuracy under pressure
- Familiarity with industry best practices and food safety standards
- Positive, professional approach with both coworkers and guests
- Culinary school diploma a plus, but not required
