Education Requirement: Graduation from an accredited school of law.
Experience Requirement:
One (1) year of work experience in the satisfactory performance of duties in one or more of the following areas (or the equivalent): 1) Legal research and writing; 2) litigation; 3) review of and drafting of legislation; 4) review of new laws for impact of court requirements; 5) development of policies, procedures, and legal forms to implement new laws; AND
One (1) year of experience in a family court setting or litigating in family court proceedings that includes familiarity with and understanding of issues relating to family court processes and procedures. Such experience must also demonstrate knowledge of various court rules, policies and procedures, as well as responsibility for managing confidential, complex, jurisdictional, and controversial issues.
License Requirement: Applicants must possess an active license to practice law in all courts of the State of Hawaii. Applicants who have an INACTIVE license may apply, however, verification of current and ACTIVE license is required upon selection.
