Position: Travel RN – Outpatient Surgery / Endoscopy
Location: St. Helena, CA
Shift: Days | 4 x 10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday with a rotating day off
Start Time: Between 5:30 AM and 11:00 AM (based on daily case volume)
Pay: $2,500/week
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient surgery and endoscopy team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing various minimally invasive procedures. Your expertise will ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes through comprehensive assessments, precise clinical interventions, and compassionate communication. Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient surgery and endoscopy setting.
- Perform comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments and preparation.
- Monitor and care for patients during Pre-Op and PACU Phase II recovery.
- Assist with endoscopy and outpatient surgical procedures.
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation in accordance with facility protocols.
- Continuously assess patients' condition, vital signs, and response to treatment.
- Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure care, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards at all times.
- Prioritize multiple patients while ensuring rapid, safe patient turnover.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative experience.
Requirements
- Active California RN License
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Recent Endoscopy experience is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Outpatient Surgery or Perioperative Nursing experience
- Pre-Op and PACU Phase II experience
- Moderate Sedation experience
- Ability to manage rapid patient turnover
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient surgery and endoscopy environment
