Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and maintain floor care standards to ensure pristine surfaces
- Manage janitorial tasks such as trash removal, replenishing amenities, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces for optimal sanitation
- Operate cleaning equipment including vacuums, buffers, and steam cleaners efficiently and safely
- Follow hotel housekeeping management procedures, including adhering to emergency protocols and safety guidelines
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to linen supplies, furniture moving, or equipment handling while maintaining proper manual handling techniques
Requirements
- Prior experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial/industrial cleaning is highly preferred
- Knowledge of floor cleaning, sanitation practices, and chemical agent handling is essential
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude toward guests and team members
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety data sheets (SDS) for chemical products
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts
- Experience in hospitality or janitorial roles demonstrates a solid understanding of cleanliness standards and safety protocols
