- Utilize educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and support diverse learning styles.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies for students with special needs or developmental disabilities.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for success.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational data; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists (such as speech therapists or occupational therapists), and support staff to create a cohesive learning environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design principles.
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs populations.
- Proficiency in educational technology integration and learning tools to support diverse learners.
- Expertise in classroom management, behavior management for students with disabilities, and applied behavior analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with special education laws (such as IEP requirements) and educational compliance standards.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for early childhood education, preschool settings, or toddler care environments as needed.
