Overview
Come start a career in construction estimating! Here at Window Supply Co, we are seeking a dedicated and self-starting estimator/salesperson with any experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in construction estimating or experience with windows and cost estimating, and take initiative to close sales. This role is responsible for generating work for our service department and ensuring supply-only projects are followed through to completion.Experience in a related field is a plus, but not a requirement. This is an entry level position and training will be provided to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Measuring & Assessing- Review customer provided information including dimensions, blueprints, and site measurements.
- Preparing Estimates & Quotes- Calculate the costs of materials. Coordinate with the service team to factor in labor and installation costs along with any additional charges.
- Communicate with customers & team- answer questions about pricing, materials, or options.
- Record-keeping & Documentation- This includes keeping records of estimates, quotes and approvals. Track which quotes convert to actual orders.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management review, outlining estimated costs.
- Perform Lead Generation tasks - Cold calls/emails, outside sales meetings, follow up with past/potential clients.
Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge- Must demonstrate a strong understanding of technical details, specifications, and code compliance or the ability to seek the required information.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors, subcontractors and potential clients.
- Familiarity with contracts related to construction projects is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate pricing assessments.
- Previous experience in windows, glasswork or construction sites is preferred to better understand project dynamics.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to team members and stakeholders.
- Experience in a construction related office position or experience in a sales related position is a plus, but all candidates are welcome to apply
