Position Summary
The Contract Registered Dietitian will conduct telephonic nutrition assessments and follow-ups, provide nutrition education, and support patient care through documentation and coordination with the kitchen team. This is a task-focused role centered on completing patient assessments with a flexible schedule.
Compensation
Pay per assessment (1099 contractor). Estimated equivalent earnings: $30 – $50 per hour depending on assessment volume and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Patient Assessments
· Conduct initial and follow-up nutrition assessments via telephone
· Obtain patient nutrition, medical, and dietary information
· Provide nutrition education and coaching (non-MNT)
· Document all assessments in the electronic charting system
Communication & Coordination
· Educate patients on program operations, expectations, and their responsibilities, including understanding meal services, reviewing ingredients, and following program guidelines.
· Coordinate with kitchen/food service team to align meals with diet needs
· Request documentation to support patient services and eligibility
· Maintain professional communication with providers
Productivity Expectations
· Minimum number of assessments required to maintain active contract status
· Flexible schedule with responsibility to meet productivity expectations
Qualifications
Bilingual Requirement:
English and Spanish highly desired.
Required:
· Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition
· Strong communication skills
· Experience with assessments and documentation
· Ability to work independently remotely
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Experience using Microsoft Teams
· Ability to manage email communication and scheduling effectively
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to navigate electronic medical records (EMR) systems
· Contractors are required to use their own laptop or desktop computer and maintain reliable internet connectivity to perform job responsibilities.
