We’re growing — and we’re looking for an experienced crane technician who takes that same pride in their craft.
About the Role
This is a hands-on field position serving industrial customers throughout the Houston metro area and surrounding regions. You’ll work independently on a wide range of overhead crane and hoist systems — performing inspections, service, repairs, and installations at customer facilities. You’ll interact directly with customers on-site, so professionalism and communication matter as much as technical skill.
What You’ll Do
- Perform OSHA-compliant overhead crane and hoist inspections
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures
- Install new overhead crane systems and associated components
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service
- Document findings accurately and communicate clearly with the office team
- Represent Kempco professionally at every customer site
What We’re Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience with overhead cranes, hoists, and industrial lifting equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills — mechanical and electrical
- Ability to work independently in industrial environments with minimal supervision
- Professional appearance and communication with customers on-site
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Bonus experience (not required — but valued):
- VFDs and crane control systems
- Hoist and trolley service
- Structural modifications, welding, or fabrication
- OSHA crane safety standards and regulations
- Load testing procedures
Required — Background & Clearance
Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug screenings as a condition of employment.
