Cable & Harness Technician
Position Summary
Corsair Electrical Connectors is seeking a hands-on Cable & Harness Technician to support our Engineering and Test departments.
The primary responsibility of this position is to build, assemble, modify, and test electrical cable harnesses used for connector testing and qualification. This individual will work closely with our Test Engineer and Engineering team to prepare test setups, perform testing, document results, and support qualification of aerospace and military electrical connector products.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with wires, cables, contacts, connectors, crimping tools, soldering equipment, electrical drawings, pinouts, and basic electrical test equipment.
What You'll Do
- Build and assemble electrical test cables and wire harnesses according to drawings, schematics, pinouts, and engineering instructions.
- Cut, strip, terminate, crimp, and solder wires and contacts as required.
- Install contacts, connectors, backshells, sleeving, labels, and other cable/harness components.
- Perform cable and harness inspections to verify proper workmanship and configuration.
- Perform continuity and basic electrical testing using multimeters and other test equipment.
- Assist the Test Engineer with connector qualification and QPL testing.
- Set up connector samples, test fixtures, cables, and equipment for engineering testing.
- Follow test procedures and document test conditions and results accurately.
- Assist with troubleshooting failed test cables, fixtures, connectors, or test setups.
- Read and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Maintain test equipment, tools, cables, fixtures, and the engineering test area.
- Support Engineering and Quality with connector-related testing and investigations.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience assembling electrical cables, wire harnesses, or electromechanical assemblies.
- Experience with wire stripping, crimping, contact termination, connector assembly, and/or soldering.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, pinouts, and work instructions.
- Experience using basic electrical test equipment such as a digital multimeter (DMM).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with small components and precision hand tools.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately document work and test results.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting engineers and other technical personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building cable or wire harnesses in an aerospace, defense, military, electronics, or connector manufacturing environment.
- Experience with aerospace or military electrical connectors.
- Experience with MIL-DTL, MIL-STD, QPL, or qualification testing.
- Experience performing electrical or environmental product testing.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 experience or certification is a plus.
- Experience working directly with Engineering, Quality, or Test departments is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform detailed work involving small wires, contacts, and connector components.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform detailed cable and connector assembly.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience actually building cable assemblies and wire harnesses and wants to develop further into engineering and qualification testing.
This is a good opportunity for an experienced Cable Assembler, Wire Harness Technician, Electrical Assembler, or Electronics Technician who is interested in expanding into a Test Engineering support role.
