Overview
The Warehouse Manager, a member of our operations team, is responsible for the effective management and running of warehouse operations and equipment control.
The Warehouse Manager must provide a high level of oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth preparation of events. The Warehouse Manager will actively supervise, direct, and train warehouse assistants in meeting company quality standards.
This is a key position for the effective execution of events. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for equipment and product receiving and distribution control for the company.
- Ensure that established procedures for tracking prep-pull orders, ops completed sheets, de-prepping, and inventory are maintained; report any deviation to supervisor.
- Maintain and manage organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas.
- Provide direction to part-time warehouse staff to ensure all established processes are completed for each event, in addition to requisitioning during events, post-event inspection and de-prepping, sub-rental returns, equipment storage, cleaning and maintenance.
- Responsible for ensuring that the rental and production management order system is adhered to for all orders received; verify proper specification, size, quantity, etc. of equipment; supervise proper labeling, and stocking of supplies.
- Oversee and ensure that appropriate equipment availability levels are met for each event; maintain integrity of product.
- Ensure proper transfer process of sub-rentals, including follow-up documentation.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and order replacement parts.
- Create Event Informational Job Books for assigned events.
- Schedule warehouse assistants based on business demand.
- Evaluate warehouse employee performance, and in conjunction with supervisor, maintain employee records, written warnings, reviews and other related documents.
- Conduct walk through of the warehouse and storage areas after the completion of each day to ensure all areas are clean and organized.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and vendors in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
- Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (i.e. staffing adjustments, and/or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft office.
