American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center in Connecticut, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a large, short-term acute care hospital with over 1,500 staffed beds
-
Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center setting
-
Average patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days, nights, and weekends
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating required to sister units, including Observation, within scope to meet facility needs
-
No on-call requirements

Charting performed in Epic
-
Parking available for approximately $125/month

Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)

Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Prior experience in a large trauma center setting required

Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions

1 professional reference required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler

RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval

Block scheduling is not available for this assignment

Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted

COVID vaccine and booster required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted

Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
