Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and quality specifications
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting creative dish ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Use knife skills proficiently to chop, slice, dice, and portion ingredients efficiently
- Support food preparation tasks such as marinating, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals for service
- Maintain organized workstations, ensuring all kitchen tools and equipment are clean, functional, and properly stored
- Collaborate with team members during catering events or special functions to deliver exceptional service
- Follow food handling guidelines diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure customer safety
Experience
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly desirable
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs and meal accommodations
- Proven culinary experience with strong knife skills and meal preparation expertise
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in menu planning, food presentation, and catering operations enhances your ability to excel in this role
