Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Sampling Technician to support our project based in Yakima. The ideal candidate will be responsible for retrieving samples, daily, at two established outdoor stations near the Yakima Firing Range and record data, followed by delivering samples to the lab.
The Sampling Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and quality of samples used in various testing and research activities and requires comfortability with use of computer tools to download and enter data into a database. Mechanically inclined aptitude is also a plus for periodic equipment maintenance and repair.
Duties
- Collect samples following established protocols and laboratory procedures.
- Prepare samples for analysis.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sample collection and processing steps.
- Ensure all sampling activities comply with company quality control standards.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment to prevent contamination or errors.
- Collaborate with various team members to troubleshoot issues related to sampling or analysis techniques.
Experience (preferred, but not required)
- Prior experience working in an industrial or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques including microbiology, histology, molecular biology, and analysis skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and standard laboratory procedures.
- Understanding of GLP, CGMP, FDA regulations, and veterinary terminology is advantageous.
- Experience with scientific research methodologies and data collection is desirable.
- Strong math skills for data analysis and interpretation are essential.
- Previous research laboratory experience or experience working in a microbiology or veterinary-related environment will be considered a plus. .
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.40 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
