Role and Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities provided below are intended to describe the general nature of the work performed by the employees assigned to this job. All employees must comply with Company policy and applicable laws. The responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified may vary within each department and/or location. Other duties in production and/or other departments within the company may be assigned to complete company requirements.
- Operate dehydration production line by drying various fruits and vegetables through to meet all company and customer requirements.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, set up of equipment, start-up and shutdowns, monitoring production and troubleshoot as needed, and complete quality checks on assigned equipment and work areas.
- Control the dryer functions and entire drying process to ensure that final product is in specification and meets all company and customer standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of drying processes daily according to company requirements. Inspect all products, raw and finished, for use according to quality specifications and communicate any discrepancies first to the Production Supervisor.
- Perform plant wide sanitation while wearing company provided and required PPE.
- Follow product safety guidelines, practice good housekeeping, and prevent contamination of ingredients and finished product.
- Properly sample product to verify quality, moisture, color, and/or lab testing.
- Perform pre-operation and routine inspections of all dryer-related equipment to ensure that equipment is in top working condition by following proper running procedures and reporting equipment and safety issues to the maintenance department.
- Strictly adhere to the companies Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HAACP Programs to ensure food safety.
- Communicate with and assist others in their positions by giving breaks to promote teamwork and reduce and/or eliminate any production downtime.
- Follow all safety rules and programs to prevent injury to self and others.
- Transport product by operating a forklift, aerial/scissor lift, wheel loader, skid steer, scrubber, sweeper, lawnmower, weed eater, and any additional equipment that may be purchased and utilized by the company during assignment and/or employment.
- Provide training for new Operator / Sanitation Team Members.
- Assist and/or perform lock out/tag out as trained to ensure safe operations
- Take initiative to continually participate and seek improvements for the success of the department and our customers.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
- Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Prior experience working in a food manufacturing environment
- Prior experience operating forklifts/powered industrial equipment. Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
- Prior experience performing sanitation in a food manufacturing facility
Additional Notes
Works under supervision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, twist, turn, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; required to climb or balance (climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis). Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, smells, outside weather conditions, inside temperature conditions, high, and precarious places. Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid, and/or noisy environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Schedule: Mon-Thurs, 4-10hr shifts (40 hours per week)
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
