Title: Assistant Superintendent / Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)
Location: Augusta, GA (On Site)
Compensation: $50,000 to $80,000
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise construction activities, subcontractors, and craft employees
- Drive compliance with the Site-Specific Safety Plan and OSHA standards across all trades
- Run daily safety and quality inspections, correcting issues on the spot
- Lead weekly toolbox talks and present safety updates at client meetings
- Plan crew activities — methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and schedules — and track hours worked
- Coordinate your scope with other trades, departments, and contractors to keep the project moving as one team
- Troubleshoot field issues, from productivity gaps to drawing and site conflicts
- Keep safety documentation accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule
- Coordinate with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, and schedule
- Support development of the Project Execution Schedule, site logistics, and project procedures
- Track schedule progress daily, weekly, and monthly
- Build and review 4-week look-ahead schedules with the team and subcontractors
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of construction experience, including 2+ years in a field supervision or leadership role (Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Crew Lead, etc.) on medium-sized commercial or Federal projects
- Solid grasp of commercial construction processes — civil, structural, and MEP systems
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules with confidence
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving instincts
- Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment
- Proven safety leadership: OSHA 30 certified, with annual documented safety training
- Federal client experience (NPS, USACE, or similar) is a plus
- Historical renovation experience is a plus
