Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Infant Teacher Assistant that is available to work Monday - Friday 11:30am-6pm to join our nurturing early childhood education team.
In this vital role, you will support lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster positive growth and learning experiences for our youngest learners. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote infant development, including sensory play, motor skills, and social interactions
- Support daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices in accordance with health and safety standards
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following proper sanitation procedures and ensuring all equipment is in good condition
- Engage with infants through gentle supervision, comforting, and encouraging exploration to foster emotional security
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring transparency and trust
- Support classroom management by helping to organize materials, set up learning stations, and assist with transitions throughout the day
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health protocols to ensure compliance with state regulations and safety standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with infants or in early childhood education settings such as daycare centers or preschools
- Knowledge of childhood development principles specific to infants and toddlers
- Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR is highly preferred; willingness to obtain required certifications if not already held
- Familiarity with special education needs or experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to maintain classroom management while demonstrating patience, compassion, and attentiveness
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
- Childcare or daycare center experience demonstrating responsibility for infant supervision and care
