We are hiring a teacher for our After School & Summer program that serves children in southwest county Roanoke. Ideally, the qualified candidate would be flexible in working with all elementary age children although you may be assigned to one specific age group. During After School, this position works 15-20 hours a week (typically from 1:45 - 5:30/6 pm.) Hours vary and are flexible on Full Days, and for Spring, Winter, and Summer Camps.
Job description:
- Responsible for the healthy, safety, and well-being of all children (ages 5 - 12)
- Facilitate a positive classroom experience for all children
- Effective classroom management
- Address behavioral issues with children
- Help facilitate enrichment activities
- Assist students in completing homework
- Light administrative and class organization duties
- Perform general housekeeping duties maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Drive van daily
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with children
- Willing to drive a 12 or 15 van passenger van daily (Age 25 and good driving record required for insurance)
- Maintain CPR/First Aid/CPR certifications
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 25 per week
