Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated full time Server to join our new vibrant French bistrot team! As a key member of our hospitality staff, you will deliver exceptional guest experiences by providing attentive service, sharing your culinary and beverage knowledge, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued. Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and assist with menu selections to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items, and specialty dishes to maximize sales opportunities
- Process cash and card transactions accurately, including handling cash handling procedures and processing sales transactions
- Clear tables promptly, bus tables as needed, and ensure the dining area remains clean and inviting
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food preparation and timely service
- Engage with guests to foster positive guest relations, handle special requests, and resolve any concerns promptly
- Assist with opening or closing duties such as sanitation, stocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with food safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining experience or in a high-volume setting
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable reservations is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing tabs efficiently
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food preparation techniques is desirable
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Food safety certification or understanding of sanitation standards; experience with food handling is preferred
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or busser is advantageous
