American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification, Epic experience, and the ability to independently perform sterile vaginal exams.

Acute care hospital setting with 320 total staffed beds
-
Labor & Delivery unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
-
Weekend requirement is every other weekend, with the possibility of additional weekends to meet unit needs
-
Floating required to Mother Baby unit and potentially across all facilities within the state
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Scrubs are provided for L&D
-
Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (AWHONN Advanced is a hard stop — must have a passing score)

Minimum of 1.5 years of L&D RN experience required; 2 years preferred

Epic EMR experience required

Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision — this is a hard stop requirement

Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Active license must be in hand at time of consideration

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

Former permanent employees of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning and must reside more than 50 miles away

Refusal to float between facilities may result in termination of the assignment

Scheduling preferences may be considered at manager's discretion but are not guaranteed; schedule change requests due to outside employment will not be accommodated
