Special Instructor – Early Intervention (Birth to 3)Job Overview
Building Bridges for Kids LLC is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Instructors to provide Early Intervention services to children from birth to age 3 throughout New York City.
As a Special Instructor, you will work directly with children and families in natural environments, helping young children develop communication, cognitive, social-emotional, adaptive, and developmental skills during the most critical years of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families while enjoying flexible scheduling and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized Early Intervention services in accordance with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate strategies to support children's growth and learning
- Collaborate with families to promote skill development through daily routines and activities
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate session documentation
- Communicate effectively with families, service coordinators, and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing collaboration to support positive outcomes for children
- Utilize evidence-based practices to address developmental delays and support child development
- Promote family engagement and empower caregivers with strategies to support continued progress outside of sessions
Qualifications
Candidates must possess one of the following:
- New York State Students with Disabilities (Birth–Grade 2) Certification (SWD B-2)
- Special Education Certification
- Certification or qualifications that meet New York State Early Intervention requirements for Special Instruction services
Preferred Experience
- Early Intervention experience
- Experience working with children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs
- Knowledge of child development and family-centered practices
- Experience providing services in homes, community settings, or educational environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
