Cook
The Cook prepares nutritious meals for residents while following therapeutic diet orders, food safety standards, and facility policies. This role supports resident health, satisfaction, and daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to menus and diet orders
- Follow therapeutic diets (diabetic, low sodium, pureed, etc.)
- Maintain proper food temperatures and portion control
- Keep kitchen clean and sanitary
- Follow food safety and infection control procedures
- Assist with meal service and tray preparation
- Monitor food supplies and report shortages
- Work closely with dietary staff, nursing, and the dietitian
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or healthcare cooking preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Food Handler or ServSafe certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Stand for long periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Work safely around hot equipment and kitchen tools
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
