Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations on food, drink, wine and spirits selections
- Maintain a clean, stocked and organized bar
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- Monitor customer behavior and respond to any issues or concerns
- Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender in a busy environment is mandatory
- Knowledge of basic math skills for handling payments and making change
- Familiarity with different types of alcoholic beverages, beer/brewing techniques, wine varietals, syrups/mixers and specialty cocktail recipes
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (e.g. cases of wine)
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Knowledge of NYC food handling practices and safety regulations.
- A passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest experiences
Note: banquet experience, familiarity with Toast POS in food service experience, and catering experience are all pluses.
