Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions across regional and national routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Make sure freight is loaded securely and the amount of freight matches the Bill of Lading and info provided by Dispatch
- Plan routes effectively to optimize on-time delivery schedules while managing time on the road and rest periods
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery statuses, and any issues encountered during transit
- Send photos of loaded freight and BOL at each Pick-Up
- Send PODs (Proof of Delivery) by email after each delivery
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Proven 2 years of OTR truck driving experience in Consolidated Dry Van Semi-truck inter-state transport
- Ability to handle various cargo types safely and securely while complying with safety protocols
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards for commercial drivers
- Ability to work independently on long-haul routes with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and safety
