Job Title: Second-Year Coordinator, Dental Hygiene Program (Full-Time Faculty)

Position Summary
Harcum College seeks a Second-Year Coordinator for its Dental Hygiene Program. This full-time faculty role leads the administration and continuous improvement of the second-year clinical curriculum and student experience. The position reports to the Program Director and Clinic Director and includes 6 credits/year administrative and 3 credits/year clinical tracking and grading responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Clinical Leadership

Review, revise and implement the second-year clinical didactic courses; Preventive Oral Health Services, III and IV
- Coordinate clinical education, competencies, and student patient care

Partner with the Clinic Director on student orientations, rotations, and clinical operations

Analyze outcomes and recommend curriculum enhancements
Faculty, Student & Clinical Operations

Support clinical faculty orientation, calibration, and ongoing development

Communicate with students, faculty, and clinic staff regarding schedules, policies, and updates

Oversee clinical documentation, materials, and LMS (Canvas) distribution

Monitor student progress; implement interventions and remediation as needed
Assessment, Compliance & Quality

Manage clinical evaluations, grading, and performance reporting

Ensure accuracy and compliance of clinical documentation and student records

Track student clearances and support accreditation standards

Compile and analyze clinical and patient data; contribute to annual reporting
Rotations, Scheduling & Licensure Preparation

Coordinate clinical rotations, site communications, and evaluation processes

Review and distribute clinic schedules and assignments

Support student preparation for ADEX and other licensing exams, including mock boards and faculty calibration
Program & Community Engagement

Coordinate student participation in service-learning and outreach

Serve as Co-Advisor to the Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association (SADHA)

Participate in clinic coordination meetings and program initiatives
Qualifications

Active Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene license

Professional experience as a Dental Hygienist

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
