Quality Assurance Supervisor - Beverage Manufacturing
Location: Pittsgrove, NJ Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $90,000–$110,000 + Annual Bonus (based on experience)
Why this role stands out
This isn't a clipboard-and-checklist QA job. You'll be the quality lead inside a well-established beverage and food manufacturing operation that's been running for 80+ years - overseeing QA/QC across processing, canning, and packaging lines, managing a team, and having real influence over how product quality is maintained and improved.
You'll report directly to the QA Manager with visibility across the entire plant, working hands-on with production teams to solve problems, not just document them. If you've built your career in food manufacturing quality and want a role where your expertise shapes the operation, this is worth a conversation.
What you'll own
Quality leadership across the plant
- Lead QA/QC processes for beverage and fruit processing lines, including sauce production and pressing operations
- Run plant audits, paperwork reviews, and process checks to keep standards tight
- Investigate quality issues plant-wide and provide hands-on troubleshooting support
- Participate in and lead internal audits (SQF, food safety, housekeeping) and support external audits (customer, USDA, FDA, Organic)
Process improvement with real authority
- Identify and implement process improvements that directly impact product quality and efficiency
- Oversee rework processes (mod pallets, dump backs, finished goods evaluations) and direct rework coordinators
- Manage the hold process end-to-end: QAD system entries, hold tags, hold logs, and resolution
- Conduct analytical testing of raw materials and finished products against specifications
Team management
- Supervise and develop QA staff - hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, and coaching
- Train production operators on quality documentation, food safety practices, and compliance requirements
- Provide backup coverage for QA Technicians and step in for the QA Manager when needed
Compliance and documentation
- Maintain all quality documentation: test results, inspection records, non-conformance reports, and customer complaint investigations
- Manage calibration and troubleshooting of analytical equipment
- Conduct bi-weekly facility walk-throughs and share housekeeping findings with management
What you bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Agriculture, or related field - or equivalent combination of education and experience
