Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable OTR (Over-the-Road) cargo van driver to join our dynamic delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and packages to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a cargo van or box truck for scheduled deliveries across designated routes
- Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, adhering to delivery schedules and traffic laws
- Communicate effectively with dispatch using mobile devices to confirm routes, delivery statuses, and address any issues
- Assist customers with loading or unloading items, providing excellent customer service throughout each interaction
- Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices during all manual handling tasks
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections in compliance with company policies
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with warehouse experience or commercial driving background
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a plus but not mandatory for cargo van roles
- Experience operating box trucks or vehicles with manual transmission is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling of packages safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of route driving, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude and clear communication abilities
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing delivery schedules
