SUMMARY:
Direct, manages and coordinates all manufacturing activities for the plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of product and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Coordinates/Interacts with Quality, Engineering, Materials, Purchasing and other departments to ensure success
Of manufacturing operations in facility.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Leads efforts to improve productivity to standards and cost savings.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Maintains the highest level of customer satisfaction as measured by PPM, OR’s, PRR’s, delivery indices, and product line scrap.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
Staff, train, and man product line to meet customer requirements.
Develop and maintain a QOS process for the product line consistent with the requirements of TS16949.
Implements the activities of lean manufacturing within the product line..
Achieve and maintain quoted cost standards and quoted variances for assigned department.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages 3 to 9 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total up to 650 employees (based on plant location) in plant manufacturing and material areas. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree form four-year college or university, plus five to ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plant and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet applications. Must be familiar with internet research and the use of e-mail.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
