We are seeking an experienced Wealth Advisor Associate to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three to five years of wealth management experience and a passion for financial planning, client service, and continuous professional growth.
This role partners closely with a Senior Wealth Advisor in delivering comprehensive financial planning and outstanding client service. The position also collaborates with our investment, planning, marketing, client operations, and management teams, and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Advisor Support
- Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive financial plans using financial planning software.
- Prepare semi-annual client review materials for Senior Wealth Advisors.
- Research financial planning strategies and solutions to support current and prospective clients.
- Participate in the firm’s Financial Planning Committee.
- Analyze financial planning opportunities for prospective clients.
- Assist with ongoing financial planning projects and special initiatives.
Client Relationship Support
- Participate in both in-person and virtual client meetings.
- Coordinate client service activities with the Client Operations team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while delivering exceptional service.
- Support Senior Wealth Advisors in managing ongoing client relationships.
Business Development & Marketing
- Assist with marketing initiatives designed to grow the firm’s client base and assets under management.
- Help create educational content for clients and staff, including written materials and video presentations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate across departments to support firm initiatives.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Economics, Business, or Marketing preferred); MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of five (3-5) years of experience in wealth management, with a focus on financial planning, client relationship management, or advisor support.
- Series 65 or Series 66 license, or willingness to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe.
- CFP® certification is a plus. NorthStar provides financial assistance for qualified employees pursuing the CFP® designation.
- Strong understanding of investment management and financial planning concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in both in-person and virtual work settings (Microsoft Teams and Zoom).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Technology Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
- Financial planning software (RightCapital, MoneyGuidePro, eMoney, or similar)
- Wealthbox or other CRM platforms (Salesforce, Redtail, etc.)
- Black Diamond or similar portfolio reporting systems
- Schwab Advisor Center or other custodian platforms
Compensation
- Competitive base salary based on experience
