Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and offering product recommendations.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash register operations, cash handling, and balancing the cash drawer at shift end.
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, enhancing customer understanding and interest.
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining organized store layouts to ensure an inviting shopping environment.
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and suggesting additional items or upgrades to maximize sales opportunities.
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while providing information or directing calls appropriately.
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment, product labeling, and participating in stock counts as needed.
- Engage in supervising experience by mentoring new team members or assisting in daily store operations when required.
- Promote a positive shopping experience by maintaining clear communication skills and demonstrating friendly, professional behavior at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems, retail math, cash register operations, and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising principles to assist customers effectively.
- Experience supervising or mentoring others is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions at every touchpoint.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings as needed.
