Job Summary
Northstar Aquatics, Inc. is a wholesale distributor of live aquarium fish, coral, plants, and dry goods. We're looking for a hardworking, dependable part-time team member to help pack out live fish for delivery to our store customers. No prior experience required — if you've got a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, we'll teach you everything you need to know.
Let's be straight with you: yes, you get to work with fish all day, and that part is genuinely fun and interesting. But this is real, physical work. It means standing, lifting, moving fast, and staying focused so every order goes out right and on time. If you take pride in putting in an honest day's work and like staying busy, you'll fit right in.
The right person is reliable, detail-oriented, and steady on their feet through a busy shift. Curiosity and a desire to learn are a must. Knowledge of freshwater or marine aquarium livestock is a plus, but absolutely not required — we're happy to train the right attitude.
Primary job duties:
- Packing and shipping outbound livestock orders accurately and on time — this is the heart of the role
- Learning to identify fish species so every order is packed out correctly
- Keeping the pack-out area clean, stocked, and organizedDriving company vehicle for local store deliveries (approximately once or twice per week as needed)
- Customer interaction with walk-in clients
Additional job duties:
- Day-to-day livestock husbandry and care
- Acclimating and unpacking inbound shipments
- Some ladder work
- Other duties as assigned
What we're looking for:
- A strong, dependable work ethic and the drive to keep orders moving
- Willingness to learn — no experience needed, just show up ready to work
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and tolerate standing/walking on concrete floors throughout the shift
- Comfort working in a high-heat, high-humidity environment
- Punctuality and consistency — our store customers count on shipments going out on schedule
Hours & pay:
Business hours are 9AM–5PM, Mon–Fri.*
This part-time position is ideally 9AM–2PM, Monday through Friday. *Short weekend hours or after-hours work may occasionally come up for unexpected pack-outs or incoming orders.
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
