Case Manager — Guiding Star Residence

Guiding Star Residence is a newly established children's residential care facility in Boise, Idaho, licensed under. As a startup, you'll have the unique opportunity to help shape our programs, culture, and standard of care from the ground up. We're building a home-like, supportive environment for children in care, and we're looking for a dedicated Case Manager to help lead that mission with us.
Position Summary
Guiding Star Residence is seeking a qualified Case Manager to oversee assessment, service planning, supervision, and support for the children in our care. This is a foundational hire for our growing organization; you'll play a key role in establishing case management practices, service plans, and coordination processes as we launch.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized service plans for each child
- Provide supervision and support in coordination with direct care staff
- Be available onsite during normal business hours to support staff and residents
- Coordinate with placing agencies, families, and outside service providers
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in accordance with IDAPA 16.04.18
- Support the facility's behavior management and treatment planning processes
- Collaborate with facility leadership to help build and refine case management protocols as a startup team
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following, case manager qualification standards:
- Social Work Licensure: Licensed by the State of Idaho under Title 54, Chapter 32, Idaho, or
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral science or related field, with at least one (1) year of full-time work experience with children in a social service setting
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience working within a children's residential facility strongly preferred
- Experience developing or implementing individualized service/treatment plans
- Familiarity with IDAPA 16.04.18 or similar state residential care licensing standards
- Experience coordinating with child welfare agencies, courts, or juvenile justice systems
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfort working in a startup environment — flexibility, initiative, and willingness to help build processes from scratch
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a criminal history background check
- Reliable availability during normal business hours for onsite support
- Valid driver's license (may be required for transportation coordination)
