Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Resident Care Director to lead our dedicated care team in providing exceptional support and services to our residents. As a Resident Care Director, you will oversee daily care operations, foster a positive environment, and ensure that all residents’ needs are met with professionalism and empathy. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the caregiving team to deliver personalized resident care aligned with care plans and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of resident care plans, ensuring they reflect individual needs and preferences.
- Manage documentation review, medical records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect resident privacy.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate resident assessments, including MDS (Minimum Data Set) reviews and updates.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for all resident interactions.
- Monitor shift management to optimize staffing levels, promote efficient workflows, and maintain high-quality care delivery.
- Maintain knowledge of Medicare regulations, hospice care protocols, acute care procedures, and physiology/ anatomy fundamentals relevant to resident health.
- Foster a leadership environment by supervising staff performance, providing mentorship, and promoting professional development in nursing administration.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to assisted living, nursing home operations, and home health services.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to develop effective care plans that incorporate residents’ medical terminology understanding and specific needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments with a strong background in nurse management or nursing administration.
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing diverse teams of healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems used for documentation review, medical records management, and shift management.
- Familiarity with Medicare regulations, hospice care standards, acute care procedures, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the development of individualized care plans.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
- Certification as a licensed nurse (RN or LPN/LVN) is required; additional certifications in healthcare management are a plus.
