The Nurse Supervisor is an advanced professional position responsible for daily clinical operation of the Children Crisis and Stabilization program to include supervision of direct service staff, training, and consultation. The Nurse Supervisor will oversee care and productivity of all Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Behavioral Health Technicians within a 24/7 child psychiatric and behavioral health facility. Additional responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training and development of new staff. Participates as a contributing member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Participates in Quality Improvement activities and program reporting as assigned. Reports to and functions under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the Program Manager and/or Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Nursing Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree from an NLN approved program with 2 years nursing experience and one year supervisory experience preferred. Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, families, employees, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to multi-task, display decision-making and critical thinking skills, and basic computer skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Secure facility that provides inpatient treatment programs for those experiencing a mental health emergency needing 24-hour care in a safe, supportive environment.

This is a 28-bed Children's Crisis inpatient served care facility.

Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone.

May be required to stand for an extended period and/or for the entire work shift.

Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stressful situations.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provides direct supervision for the nursing and behavioral healthcare staff and ensures training compliance. Supervises and/or coordinates direct service delivery per program requirements.
- Completes required documentation in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to program monitoring and quality reports.
- Maintains cooperative relationships with internal and external programs and agencies.
- Attends agency wide, division and program meetings, seminars, conferences, and workshops to maintain and enhance essential skills and knowledge.
- Interviews/hires prospective employees and orients them to program.
- May be asked to assume administrative and supervisory duties in the Program Supervisor and/or Program Manager absence.
- Performs other duties that are similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the job.
