Grant Coordinator
Do you enjoy small Town charm? Do you have experience in local government and grant funding? The Town of Rocky Mount is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Grant Coordinator.
As county seat of Franklin County, the Town of Rocky Mount enjoys a rich musical and industrial heritage with affordable housing choices, low crime rates, and small-town charm with easy access to urban conveniences. It is home to approximately 5,000 residents and consists of approximately 6.9 square miles. Our Town government consists of the departments of Administration, Public Works, Police, Fire, Community Development, Water, and Wastewater. This position will focus on obtaining grants that will assist in enhancing these departments and the Town with the services it provides.
Duties of the position include but are not limited to researching, writing, securing, implementing, and monitoring federal state, local, and private grants for the Town. This new position will manage all aspects of the Town’s current grants, work to identify future funding needs, and seek grants to meet those needs. Qualified candidates should have a college degree with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing and grant management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A background in public services, fundraising, and grant writing is preferred.
Salary dependent upon qualifications. Excellent fringe benefits including, but not limited to, employee only health, dental, and vision paid for by employer, eligible for a contribution of up to $600 by employer towards a flexible spending account, participant of the Virginia Retirement System, employer-paid life insurance, and begin accruing seven hours every two weeks of paid time off (PTO).
