Austin Play Garden is a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool serving children ages 3 months to 5 years. We are seeking a warm, creative, and enthusiastic preschool teacher who believes children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys creating engaging learning experiences while working collaboratively with a close-knit team.
What You'll Do
- Foster a warm, nurturing classroom where children feel safe, capable, and valued.
- Create engaging, play-based learning experiences inspired by children's interests.
- Observe children's development and document learning through photos, notes, and conversations.
- Support children's social-emotional growth using respectful, relationship-based guidance.
- Build strong partnerships with families through daily communication.
- Collaborate with your co-teacher to maintain a beautiful, organized classroom environment.
- Spend your day actively engaging with children through play, art, outdoor exploration, music, and conversation.
We're Looking For Someone Who...
- Has experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Has experience with or a strong interest in Reggio Emilia, play-based, or emergent curriculum.
- Believes children learn through exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships.
- Is warm, patient, dependable, and collaborative.
- Takes initiative and enjoys contributing ideas.
- Communicates professionally with families and coworkers.
- Is organized and maintains a clean, inviting classroom.
- Values teamwork and is willing to jump in wherever needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in an early childhood classroom required.
- Experience with Reggio Emilia, play-based education, Montessori, or emergent curriculum strongly preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities, including outdoor play.
