About the Company:
At Peninsula Pediatrics, we are a busy, community-focused pediatric practice located in the Rockaway beach neighborhood of New York City. We are dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to children and their families. Our team includes part-time and full-time providers, a nurse, medical assistants, and an administrative team working collaboratively across weekday and weekend shifts. We offer a mix of wellness and sick visits. We value clear communication, teamwork, and a warm, inclusive environment for both patients and staff.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcoming patients into the office with open arms and a smile.
- Performing patient assessments and obtaining vital signs.
- Performing and documenting patient intake (temperature, height, weight, head circumference, etc.)
- Completing medical forms including school and day care forms.
- Monitoring and always ensuring efficient patient flow.
- Performing in office procedures such as strep and flu tests, viral testing; urinalysis; nebulizer treatments; finger stick blood draw, etc.
- Ensuring exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient.
- Assisting with light housekeeping duties which include spills.
- Stocking exam rooms/treatment rooms with medical supplies and designated chart forms.
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, collecting copays, etc.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently to and within established timeframes
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AND BE A CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT.
- You are one of the few faces of our small business in a small community. Therefore, your customer service skills must be WORLD CLASS!
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Displays sensitivity to the needs of patients, visitors, and coworkers.
- Excellent work ethic and communication capabilities in stressful situations.
- Functions as a respectful member of the health care team.
- Has pediatric experience.
- Is a good multi-tasker.
- High level of professionalism, maturity and superior attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a member of a small team handling a wide range of responsibilities.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
